Event: Boobquake!

Posted by PartyStarter in Culture, What is up! ~ Upcoming Events

In response to Iranian cleric announcing that women dressed provocatively lead men astray and spread adultery which cause more earthquakes, “Boobquake” is being organized to protest and dispute this “scientifically backed” observation by having women come dressed provocatively and proving an earthquake will not occur :-p.

The rally areas in Vancouver are 4-8 @ the Art Gallery, and 5:30 to 9 @ Black Frog Pub near the Steam Clock in Gastown!

The 33rd Annual Vancouver Folk Music Festival, which happens July 16-18 at Jericho Beach Park, has just announced their line-up.

Acts to definitely check out include The Avett Brothers and Calexico (which may sound familiar to those who  listen to Iron & Wine, or watched the Bob Dylan biopic “I’m Not There”, in which they were featured)

Those who watched the epic teen drama The O.C. way back when may be familiar with the UK artist Finlay Quaye whose hit-track “Dice” was heard all over North America by teens making out in 2004.

Also appearing is the lovable spoken word artist, Shane Koyczan whose poem “We Are More” inspired our nation during the Opening Ceremony of the Winter Olympics.

(sorry about the crazy formatting… had to edit this thing like crazy just to get it right!)
