Hi everyone! Just thought I’d introduce myself. I’m Justin and I’ll be invading this blog from time to time.
What do I have to offer this blog, you ask? Well, I’m a bit of a music-nerd and as such I frequent my fair share of concerts and events here in Vancouver. I am by no means an expert in this field; just an audiophile who happens to actively seek out information regarding concert announcements, tour dates, new music, etc.
There’s a lot of information scattered across the vast network of Vancouver-based sites and blogs, but my goal is to sift through all the crap and deliver exactly what you need to know about:
- concert announcements
- when tickets go on sale
- where to buy tickets
- presale passwords (if found)
I’ll be honest and mention that my taste is heavily geared towards certain genres, namely indie rock, folk, alternative, and some electronic/techno. I dabble here and there with rap and hip-hop, but admittedly, not often. Also… I’m not a Top 40 guy. I’ve no idea who’s even on that list right now. I’m ignorant that way.
Anyways, keep your eyes out for my posts soon!
Friday was the Deadmau5 concert and it was reported that 20,000 people was at Livecity Yaletown to witness his performance. I was one of the 8000 people that were able to get into the venue. The catch….I was in line at 2:3opm :-p.
So after several hours of checking out all the houses debating whether it was worth it will all the teeny boppers in the crowd, the concert started!
The concert was good, the stage was awesome, the visuals were good, and the music selection was great! So why was it only good? Deadmau5 need to crank the volume to 11!
Given it was an outside event, maybe the volume can be forgiven. If you look at the videos EVERYONE is having a blast! But pump up the volume and everyone would have been insane!!!!
Maybe I ask too much from a free event… :-p
And the radio favorite….Ghouls and Stuff!!!
Go CANADA! We are definitely racking up those medals! I have been out every night since the Olympics have started and I can tell you, I wish their were BC resident passes :-p. Some of the venues get seriously long (1 hours +) lines.
I will definitely post pictures but I will be heading out soon…gotta keep my streak alive
.
Livecity Yaletown: Definitely the better of the two Livecity locations. Inside is the Coca Cola, Panasonic, Samsung and Acer pavilions. Did I mention the AWESOME stage? It is massive with two giant screens on each side of the main stage. If you had to only check out one of the Livecities check the one in Yaletown.
Livecity Downtown: Manitoba House and the Canada Pavilion are in this venue. There is an indoor stage with a giant TV screen outside.
Each province have there individual house. Here is a rank from best to worst:
1) Ontario House
2) Maison Du Quebec
3) Saskatchewan House
4) Manitoba House
I will update this list when I get a chance to check out the rest.
Heading out!

I didn’t even know we had an Museum of Anthropology but I heard about it recently on the news. It was shut down for MAJOR renovations for the past 10 years!!! After millions of dollars were poured into it the building upgrades it has finally reopened its doors! They wanted it referred to as MOA, (just as it sounds) to make it hip and trendy.
I will definitely be check this out and check back soon for my review.

Stranger: “So what do you do for a living?”
Buster’s Tow Truck Driver: ” I’m a tow truck driver.”
Stranger: ” Oh that’s cool that’s great that you help people.”
Busters Tow Truck Driver: “Oh no, I’m not that kind of tow truck driver. I work for the city of Vancouver. I’m the one that angers people and makes them frustrated!”
Stranger: “Oh, DIE please!”
Word of warning to all. Getting towed is NOT fun, so PLEASE PLEASE when you parking downtown WALK the WHOLE block to look for signs watch out for the DREAD 3pm to 6pm NO PARKING zones. NO MATTER how small or quiet the street is PLEASE look for them. For me it was on Haro off Robson it was 3:30 and there was other cars parked “illegally” so I didn’t think twice to park there plugged the meter…and BAM when I come back my car was gone, F*CK it was a 3pm to 6pm no parking zone.”
DAMAGE to pocket book:
$10 — CAB fare
$62.50 — Busters towing fee…thanks alot
$50– City of Vancouver parking ticket
————————————–
$122.50
So moral of the story to ensure you always are having fun. When parking in the city of Vancouver always look for the parking signs.
